On the night of 31 December 2024, millions of Spaniards tuned in to RTVE to see in the New Year with laughter, emotion and glamour. At the centre of attention was LalaChus, who made her debut as a presenter of the New Year’s Eve countdown alongside David Broncano. Her presence, marked by humour and charisma, shone even brighter thanks to the spectacular dress designed by Silvia Fernández, a creation that brought together creativity, elegance and Spanish craftsmanship at its finest.
A Dress that Made the Night
The dress was conceived as a work of art. Crafted in just three weeks, it stood out for its Bardot neckline, a bustier with sheer details that added sophistication, and an A-line skirt with a side slit. The overskirt added a dramatic and elegant touch, ideal for such an iconic night.
Crafted with 15 metres of sequins in jade green, burgundy and dusty pink, the design symbolised hope, renewal and elegance. Silvia Fernández and her team of 15 dedicated more than 100 hours of work to achieving this spectacular result. Each sequin was strategically sewn to ensure the dress sparkled from every angle, especially under the studio lights in Puerta del Sol.

Collaboration with Silvia Gago and RTVE
The collaboration between Silvia Fernández and Silvia Gago, RTVE stylist, was essential to the design’s success. Gago, who coordinated every aspect of the styling, placed her full trust in Fernández to create a design that captured Lalachus’s vibrant and unique personality (Glamour). The trust and synergy between the two professionals ensured that every aspect of the dress reflected excellence and sophistication.
Alongside the dress, the accessories chosen for the occasion were key to completing the look. Lalachus wore minimalist jewellery that let the design take centre stage, along with bespoke shoes that perfectly combined comfort and style for such a long evening. These details, carefully selected by Silvia Gago, added an impeccable finishing touch to the ensemble.
A message beyond fashion
During the broadcast and on her social media, Lalachus took the opportunity to send a message of inclusivity and self-acceptance. Criticism of her appearance on social media failed to overshadow her moment, and she responded with humour and confidence, emphasising that «all bodies are valid» (El País). This message resonated with many viewers, turning the dress into a symbol of authenticity and empowerment.
